"Let's Talk!"

Together with the student representatives, the Institute for English and American Studies now offers its students the opportunity to exchange viewpoints with each other and guest experts on a wide variety of topics in an informal discussion group once per semester.
The discussion group will meet for a sixth time on Thursday, June 26, 2025, 4-6 p.m. (s.t.) in room U9/01.11 (An der Universit?t 9). Pre-registration is not necessary!
This time we will focus on the second phase of the teacher training: "Myths, Facts, and Personal Experiences with the TEFL Practical Training".
For our informal gathering we will be joined by four experts who will provide up-to-date information on our topic, such as personal experiences and important details to know before you start this phase of your teacher training:
- Verena Meyer (Middle School Mentor at Bamberg University)
- OStRin Katrin Bauer, M.A. (assigned teacher at the Chair of English Language Education)
- two former TEFL students
There will be ample opportunity to ask questions and exchange ideas with the experts and fellow students - before, during, and after the coffee break!
Alternatively, you can anonymously submit questions and comments in advance to the organizers, who will then pass them on to the experts during the discussion. You can either use the mailbox for this specific purpose in the U9 building (on the ground floor, to the left of the entrance, marked in orange) or the following link: CryptoPad (entries are anonymous).
If you have any questions or comments, the organizers can be contacted via email:

We are looking forward to meeting you (again) in June and wish you a wonderful time until then!
